Novadan’s recommended product for hoof care is Nova Hoof Hygiene, suitable for all hoofed animals.

Nova Hoof Hygiene maintains the natural strength of the cow, lowering the pH in the hoof to preserve its natural balance. This results in healthier hooves, enhancing the cow’s welfare and well-being.

Direct spraying on the hooves.

Nova Hoof Hygiene is sprayed undiluted directly on the back of the hooves 2-3 times a week.
The hooves do not need to be washed before.
Apply with back sprayer or automatic nozzle sprayer.
Treatment can be performed from the milking parlor, or where the cows are caught in railings. Then the hooves are gently sprayed with Nova Hoof Hygiene from behind.

Hoof bath

Nova Hoof Hygiene is used in hoof baths with a resolution of 5-10% depending on the size of the hoof problems in the cows.
Treatment twice a week.
There must be at least a water depth of 5 cm in order for the hoof to be covered with liquid when passing the hoof bath.
When all cows have gone through the hoof bath, the bath is emptied and cleaned.

Hoof mattress

2-3 times a week on a non-slip mattress. Depending on the mattress, pour 30-40 liters of concentrated Nova Hoof Hygiene on the mattress.
Do not dilute with water.
For every 300 cows, pour again with 10 liters.
Continuously remove superficial manure from the mat.
